late to the punch - 3D Modeling for the gym
For the first time, I have decided to use Blender. Yay.
After Years of having the app, and knowing how good it is, instead of watching another tutorial on making a donut I decided to learn what I needed. I needed an environment and the ability to have my frames in accurate perspective. So I slowly learned how to place vertices and planes, and bit by bit I learned how to make buildings. Once that was done and I had the foundation for the environment, I needed to figure out the camera so I could place the character into the scene. It took a bit but now we can start working on better shot development.
Below you can see a fly-by or a walk-through of the gym. Not the best I could’ve done but I really just wanted something rendered out.
You can’t really see much since I haven’t worked out the lighting well.
And here are some shots I will be testing.
Punching bags, yes they’re cube and not really baggy…
actual modeling will hopefully come soon.
The white cube is there to have some size reference between the setting and the character.
They are 5’8. Why? Well, I could say that it’s the height of American professional boxer Claressa Shields, which wouldn’t be a lie, but It’s also due to it being my height.
I will continue learning how to operate the Blender camera to make new shots that work within the environment, but now the next step is to draw over it… I think. This is my first time doing anything like this so I don’t have a plan. But here it goes.
